He was young. Hard to tell though, because he was headless. Headless in the way we used to do as kids, the jacket zipped up over the head with arms tucked in, empty sleeves flapping with twists and turns of the body. running at someone with one’s best scary voice wailing. More of a headless character on Scooby Doo than anything really frightening. But he wasn’t running at anyone. he just sat alone on the sidewalk with his back against the wall of Monoprix, headless. An empty pack of Leffe at his side.
It probably seemed like a good way to stay out of the sun, because it was really beating down.
